Jack Warner is a disciplined, committed and responsible person. His health initiative is a part of his vision to best represent residents of Chaguanas West. Unfortunately, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has found T&T is the world’s sixth most obese nation, with 30 percent of adults overweight. In that context, Jack Warner’s the medical scheme is going to go a long way in tackling the problem. Now that is something that the residents want to see a politician initiate, not hurling allegations like the UNC has become experts at… and shamelessly at that!!!

 Health Initiative

Jack Warner’s health initiative will prove to be a model for other neighbouring States to follow…This enterprise will provide a holistic, mobile healthcare service that would include doctors, dieticians, personal trainers, nurses and physiotherapists coming to you at your home or workplace. This service is for everyone in Chaguanas West, from children to elderly bedridden patients. This is a hurray moment and we must all be thankful for such initiative!

Jack Warner’s appeal and his ability to interact warmly with his constituents, many of whom he knows by name, is going to be the clincher! He is affectionate and kind and reflects a personality that is becoming of a public figure. He wants to do good and that is his true asset. People of Trinidad and Tobago deserve honest politician!

Why we should bring Warner back??

With deep regret we have learnt of the decision of Jack Warner’s voluntary resignation. Warner has been a top-ranked cabinet minister in two surveys and served at times as T&T’s acting prime minister. He has held the posts of Minister of Works and Transport, Minister of Works and Infrastructure and Minister of National Security.

He has developed football to a great extent in T&T as well as the region. A great leader and an inspiring minister, Warner’s contributions to Trinbago cannot remain unnoticed.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Captain Dwight Yorke said: “It was on Jack’s shoulders that we made it to the World Cup Finals. Without him, it would never have been possible.” There are many who occupy high positions in various fields but Warner has used his position to contribute much to football and the ministry.

OLIVER CAMPS, president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF), has lauded the contribution made by Jack Warner. “For several years, we have benefitted from Warner’s support and, by great extension, his position in FIFA,” Camps noted. “Had it not been for his role, this region would not have experienced some of the benefits brought to it, in terms of the various facilities, football development and assistance programme and, even the staging of (FIFA) World Cups (the Under-17 men in 2001 and Under-17 women in 2010) and, for that, we remain truly grateful”, said Camps.

Sports Minister, Anil Roberts praised Warner for his long service in FIFA, CONCACAF and CFU. “Warner has moved very high up into FIFA and therefore Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and CONCACAF region have been the recipients of many benefits over the years, not only new bodies being formed (CFU) but also management funds. Trinidad and Tobago was able to host two (FIFA) Under-17 World Cups (and) the coaches and technical staff that he was able to attract,” said Roberts.

Praising Warner for “changing the culture of the police service” during the 10 months that he served as Minister of National Security, Commissioner Williams said that he was “an exceptional minister” by his work ethic to get things done.

While he remains a Member of Parliament for Chaguanas West, we wish him and his family the very best for the future and particularly in his role in the continuing development of Trinidad and Tobago as he contests the coming elections.

Jack Warner’s Contribution to Trinidad and Tobago

We all know Jack Warner. He has been the Vice-President of FIFA, President of CONCACAF, Member of Parliament Chaguanas West, Works and Transport Minister and lately the National Security Minister too. He has been a great contributor to every field he has set foot in.

Warner’s contribution to Trinidad and Tobago in particular and, indeed to the wider Caribbean and the member-countries of the CONCACAF region has been immeasurable. His contribution and personal sacrifice have been far greater and of more lasting significance than the contributions of most who have occupied or are occupying positions in the highest echelons of the political and economic ladder in these parts.

As far as his contribution in the ministry are concerned, Warner‘s ability to motivate staff at the Ministry of Works and Transport as well as that ministry’s contractors has brought much benefit to Trinidad and Tobago in the relatively short time that he has been in office.

Presently, ahead of the July 29 by- election, Warner said the health initiative is a part of his vision to best represent residents of Chaguanas West. As MP, Warner had held medical clinics at the constituency office, and had directed many persons to the major hospitals including specialists as required. He is introducing to the constituents of Chaguanas West a new and revolutionary service that will provide an aggressive attempt to deal with the current health crisis facing our country which, he named “Onsite Doctors – Doctors at your doorsteps”. This initiative will provide a holistic, mobile healthcare service that would include doctors, dietitians, personal trainers, nurses and physiotherapists coming to you at your home or workplace. This service is for everyone in Chaguanas West, from children to elderly bedridden patients.

Under his leadership, the country will be able to move forward. He is a good leader who is always taking steps in the interest of his citizens.

Warner Will Take the Government Forward

In the excitement of the People’s Partnership resounding the elections victory on the night of May 24, 2010, Prime Minister KamlaPersad-Bissessar, has continuously praised Jack Warner. The PM herself  has said, “Tonight I want to thank the chairman of the UNC Jack Warner…Jack Warner, thank you!” Her statements themselves state her knowledge of his capability in running Trinidad and Tobago.

Jack Warner is the best solution to moving forward with the UNC.Persad-Bissessarmay have taken the party as far as she could but Warner could make it work because he truly would be held accountable by everyone. He has the capability to take run a government successfully. He is a natural and true leader.

Jack was given strategic, lucrative, ministries, until he chose to resign, because he was always at the top of the heap. Governing calls for a different set of skills which are very clearly possessed by Warner. Those who are sitting in power at this moment of time owe plenty to Jack Warner and for them to sit back enjoy it and then turn around and criticize him shows how ungrateful they are. There is no greater political strategist today other than Jack. He understands cause and effects and can fix things at just the right time in just the right way.

As an individual who has held the post of Vice-President of FIFA, President of COCACAF and the National Security Minister, Warner has a very good experience to run a government.  And he will be a successful politician and will do well for Trinidad and Tobago when he wins the by-elections.

ILP to contest Local Govt

POLITICAL leader of the Independent Liberal Party (ILP) Jack Warner yesterday confirmed that the fledgling party will, despite the outcome of the July 29 Chaguanas West bye-election, contest the Local Government Election, which is constitutionally due later this year.
Warner yesterday boasted that between last Friday’s launch of the party and yesterday, 6,000 applications for membership have come in.

Speaking following an interfaith service at the party’s election headquarters at Caroni Savannah Road in Chaguanas yesterday, Warner predicted that the party’s membership could swell to 50,000 by the end of July.

“Right now we have a little more than six thousand people who have joined since Friday and if that is not a record, I don’t know what is,” Warner said, adding, “we have had and this is important, these requests for membership have come from all over the country.” He said 4,000 requests for membership have come from within Chaguanas West and 2,000 from other parts of the country.

“I don’t know yet where or what seats but I do know that we shall be contesting the Local Government election as a party and by then I hope we shall be a party within the People’s Partnership. I am hoping we can sit down and decide who shall contest where. This is my objective…as a party, we shall be contesting the local government election,” Warner said.

“We have agreed that we shall fight Chaguanas West, come what may, win lose or draw, we shall contest all other elections but I don’t know what we shall do in terms of the two Tobago seats,” he added.

Asked about Opposition and PNM Leader Dr Keith Rowley’s stance of a potential alliance with him, as Rowley publicly stated, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend…”, Warner said: “I don’t know what Rowley is talking about and I don’t want to dignify anything that Rowley says that is foolish.

“In any event, Mrs (Kamla) Persad-Bissessar is not my enemy, so I don’t understand this ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend’ talk. I have a problem with the cabal in the UNC. I have no problem with Mrs Persad-Bissessar. I have no problem with the party itself and there are members of the party, who still of course I talk to and talk to very well,” Warner added.

Asked to comment on UNC deputy political leader Dr Roodal Moonilal’s description of him as a neemakaram, Warner said, “well I remember Mr (Basdeo) Panday calling him (Moonilal) the same thing and look where he has reached. So possibly that is not a bad word after all.”

With rumours of five People’s Partnership MPs waiting to join his party, Warner said, “I don’t know…when the time comes, we shall see. Who wants to join, I say again, it is an open party, it’s not limited to anybody and who wants to join let them join.

“By August or September the party shall organise itself and we shall hold elections of officers, but the way we are going we shall have a fantastic membership by then,” he added. Earlier, Imam Nazim Ali, in a brief address, urged those gathered to “create history” by voting for the ILP saying that the time had come to break the history of “tribal politics” in central Trinidad.
